Week 91 The Great Greek Grill

Welcome back blog readers. Aren't you so happy it is finally spring? I know we are. We both have been super swamped with working 12 plus hour days that we haven't had the time to sit down and write our reviews. As my eyes are closing I promised myself we both would get this done today.

Remember, you can always find our blog on the LV Informer http://lasvegas.informermg.com/ . We are under the Local Interest section. Also, remember you find us on Facebook and if you haven't already we would appreciate if you liked our page, https://www.facebook.com/thenewlywedsguidetovegasrestaurants.

What Teray Says...

So we all know that I love when people offer us suggestions of where to go for our blog, especially when it is my week to pick and Brett gets home later from work. I sometimes just can't think of ideas. The Great Greek was recommended to me by a coworker and I was excited to try it because I love Greek food. I would be content with eating it for the rest of my life quite frankly for every meal I would eat it.

The Great Greek is located in a strip mall across Sunset Station. I thought this place would be more of a sit down place then a take out place, but there were a few tables so we were able to eat there. We went to TGG around 8:00 and my only complaint came from what happened in the beginning. Most of the items we wanted to order they didn't have anymore. I don't blame the place though, those items must have been so good that they sold out, plus we came late in the evening, close to closing time.

Brett ordered a mix combo which he will talk about and I ordered hummus and pita along with garlic shrimp which came with rice and grape leaves. We also each got a Greek salad that came with the meal. The hummus and pita was some of the best I have ever had. Sometimes (who am I kidding...all of the time) when I order hummus I would love to take a spoon and just eat it like yogurt. If I was by myself I probably would have done that at home. My garlic shrimp was delicious, but I gave Brett some because I couldn't eat it all. I loved the rice and grape leaves as well as the Greek salad. Again, all up there with some of the best Greek food I have had in Vegas. For dessert we had rice pudding because they were out of all the other ones, but it still was delicious.

The people working at the establishment were so nice. The lady who was working the counter, I am assuming who was the owner to the wait staff always keeping the table clean. Basically how it goes there is you order your food, pay at the counter and then they bring it to you. It is a very casual atmosphere with extremely delicious food.

Overall, I would rate The Great Greek Grill 4.5 out of 5 and cannot wait to go back there for lunch when I am in that area for work.

What Brett Says...

This week it was Teray's choice, she decided to go with a recommendation she had gotten.  She chose "The Great Greek Grill" in Henderson across from Sunset Station.  I was quite alright with her choice, Greek food is usually amazing and pretty healthy.  We went on a Saturday night around 7pm.

The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, handful of tables.  It is a restaurant that requires that you order at the counter, pay, and then have a seat.  The food is brought to you by the staff.  It was a comfortable setting, nothing special but not plain like other counter order restaurants.  The service was awesome; we got to deal with the owner and one of her staff.  They were both very polite and helpful, we were taken care of very well.  While it was a counter order restaurant customer service was not sacrificed at all.

Unfortunately there was a huge downside to the restaurant, they chose to not have a good amount of what I wanted to order.  To get things started I was going to try the spinach pies...a staple of Greek food, they were all out.  That also affected the main entree since Teray was going to order something with a spinach pie.  We started with hummus instead which was very good but it wasn't what I was looking forward to.  For my entree I decided to get the gyro plate.  The Greek salad which came with the dinner was delicious, surprising for a side salad.  The gyro plate was good as well, it didn't come with enough pita but it isn't the end of the word.  It was finally time for dessert, there is nothing like Greek dessert.  unfortunately they I went up to the counter to order I was informed they were out of 3 of their 4 desserts.  I was then forced to order the rice pudding, which isn't a bad thing.  What's bad is that they were out of 75% of their desserts.  By the way the rice pudding was good.

I hate when this happens.  The food we actually had was very good and the staff was amazing.  Unfortunately from a business standpoint they failed horribly, they ran out of way too many items and they were still hours away from closing.  If they are going to run out of things they need to take them off the menu so people don't know you are out.

Rating 2.5 out of 5

Patty's Closet Outfit of the Week
Thanks to Patty and Juan from Patty's Closet for providing me with my outfit of the week this week. Check out my outfit of the week provided by Patty's Closet Fashion Boutique. I love a shirt that looks vintage. The color and the details on this peplum top make it so girly. I put a close up picture of the detailed neckline because it is one of my favorite parts of the top. I paired it with some skinny jeans and of course some fabulous earrings from Retro Love. You can find this look at the Rainbow PC location.

If you aren't lucky enough to have a Patty's Closet location near you, you can shop online at shop.ilovepattyscloset.com. You also can like their Facebook page which is linked above to get details on all of the latest store openings and see the newest shipment items on Tuesdays and Fridays. I am there every Tuesday, so come shop with me!

Until next time, cheers to spring break! xo
