Week 95 The Meatball Spot (Town Square Las Vegas)

So I used to go to Town Square, like every week-end to shop or go out to be exact. In 2013, I rarely frequent there unless it is to do my quick stops at MAC, Victoria's Secret or Patty's Closet of course. I noticed a few months ago that The Meatball Spot had opened and thought that it was an interesting concept. Once I saw that the NJ Housewives had visited there though I was sold. 

Brett and I did our typical date on Saturday night around 8:30-9:00. The place was crowded but not crowded to the point that we weren't seated right away. We were offered both inside and outside but with the wind that night chose outside. It took a little bit before our waiter greeted us. Being this was my first cheat meal of my Hot Pilates 30 Day Challenge (check my FB if you don't know what I am talking about, which is linked on the side under our favorite sites), I was sceptical what to order. 

Brett decided to get a beer but I stuck with water. There looked like there were a lot of great drinks on the menu, I just chose not to try them. For an appetizer we ordered classic meatballs in tomato sauce with no cheese. They came out rather quickly and while they were good, they were nothing to write home about. Maybe this is because I am so used to amazing, authentic Italian cooking where the meatballs are to die for. These were good, but not to die for. 

For dinner I ordered the garbage salad which to most people is also known as the antipasto. Brett ordered a meatball sandwich. My salad again was good, but nothing to rave over. I should have ordered something else, but I wanted to save room for dessert. 

Speaking of dessert, that was by far the best part. I got a sugar cookie ice-cream sandwich which was one of the highlights of my week. The milkshakes also looked good and if I ever went back it would be for that. 

Now onto service, our server was very friendly, he just wasn't the best. He forgot part of Brett's order and didn't really check on us. Brett didn't want to tell them that he forgot because he said we had to be authentic for the review. While, I really liked the atmosphere, I will most likely not return for a meal, but would to sit at the bar for drinks and dessert. That being said, I rate The Meatball Spot 2.5 out 5. 

What Brett Says...

This week we decided to head to Town Square, every once in a while it is nice to head out to a place that is crowded...lively and great for people watching.  One of the newer spots in Town Square is the "Meatball Spot."  It's in a spot that has not been kind to other restaurants, it is on the main level right below Coconuts.

I guess when you look at the Meatball Spot it looks like a cross between old school diner meets fast food restaurant with a bar.  They also have an outdoor patio, didn't really look that special.  I can tell you that it was Saturday evening and the place was packed.  There were couples, groups, and families.

One reason I can safely say I will most likely not return is the service.  The service was horrible, not wanting to unfairly judge I checked out Yelp just to see if it was a fluke...it was not a fluke.  We were sat immediately and then sat there, and sat some more.  It took the server a while before we were noticed and once we were noticed we were told it would be a little bit longer.  We asked for water...took forever.  I ordered a beer...took forever.  This is the kind of place where I should have actually timed everything.  We decided to start with an appetizer, asked to keep the menus so we could look them over.  While we were eating the appetizer the server tried to give us the bill.  At no point did he ask how it was, if we wanted more drinks, or if we wanted more food.  I had to let him know we wanted to eat more, we ordered our entrees.  The entrees took longer then expected for what they were, the server did ask how they were but we never got water refills and I never got a second beer.  Before we were done eating he once again tried to give us the bill, I asked him if we were even allowed dessert.  We ordered our dessert, only because we heard good things about dessert, ate it and ran.  Having been a server before I am usually a good tipper, this guy is lucky he even got 15%...I can't even remember the last time I didn't tip 20% or higher.

Now onto the food.  We started with an order of meatballs; 3 classic meatballs in classic sauce.  For a place called the Meatball Spot I would assume they would have the secret to the greatest meatball ever, well they don't.  They have the secret to a very normal nothing special meatball.  We decided to continue on with what was already a pretty horrible experience, I ordered the Large Hero (3 meatballs on a french baguette with sauce).  I chose to go with turkey meatballs and Parmesan cream sauce.  The sandwich was pretty good; the bread was good, the meatballs were once again average, but the sauce was amazing.  They would do better just selling sauce.  Unfortunately you do not get anything with your sandwich, they literally just put a six inch meatball sandwich on a plate.  I am curious as to why the large hero is $1 cheaper then the meatball appetizer, same amount of meatballs but you get it on bread.  I would assume the bread would make it more expensive.  Teray decided to get their garbage salad, this however was correctly described.  $14 (five bucks more then my sandwich) for a glorified side salad.  For an entree salad this thing was small, aside from being small it was pretty plain.  I'm not even sure if they put flavor in their salad dressing.  Trying to salvage the meal we decided to get dessert.  We each decided on one of their ice cream sandwiches, I got the peanut butter cup sandwich and Teray ordered the strawberry rainbow sandwich.  I think we figured out what the Meatball Spots focus should be.  I got to eat mine and half of Teray's and I have to say that these things are absolutely amazing.  

I think it is clear what my opinion is.  If you happen to be at Town Square and are in the mood for a ice cream sandwich go here, if you are in the mood for a meatball sub go to Subway.  The only reason I ever go here again is to get a to go order of the Parmesan cream sauce or for their dessert.

Rating: 2 out of 5 (the ice cream sandwich accounts for one and the fact that they did in fact have meatballs account for the other one)

Week 74 Miller's Ale House

Hi Everyone! Welcome back to the blog. This week and the next two weeks I will be having guest bloggers join me on the weekly outings which is pretty exciting. It is always fun to have different perspectives. Thanks to all the new followers this week, I love that you guys are enjoying this blog.

What Teray Says...

This week my family joined me as guest bloggers. Every Friday night they always go to Miller's and because I have never reviewed it, I figured it would be the perfect place to go. Brett and I normally also go out on Saturdays, so it was cool to see what  Friday night was like out and about. :)

My family was already seated at a high top table when I arrived and I joined them in the back. They had a pitcher of beer on special. I ordered a water and an MG 64. I don't care what anyone says, I love MG 64, not only because it is a light beer in taste, but because the calorie amount is so low. 

Our server was friendly, I am not one though that likes to make a lot of conversation with strangers at times, so some people may have found him too chatty and that the stories he was telling were too personal, maybe not though. 

I took the longest to decide what to order. I ended up going with a pepperoni pizza. I figured it would be something that I could eat at dinner but then eat left overs the next day to save myself from cooking.  My aunt ordered fish tacos, my cousin ordered the Zinger club, which is not on the menu but they make it anyway, and my uncle ordered the Zingers. I have had the fish tacos before so I know they are great. I have also had the Zingers and can say they are amazing!!! If you have a sensitive stomach though, they are spicy so beware.

Speaking for just my pizza alone it was amazing. It tasted more like the pizza I am used to having back home then most of the speciality pizza places out here. I think I know what I will get from now on when I come here, especially because there are so many times to choose from.

I love the atmosphere of Miller's, anything in Town Square is always fun no matter when you go. On Friday of last week it was the UNLV Homecoming parade, so it was packed. I love to people watch and this was the perfect opportunity!

Overall, I love the atmosphere, prices, food, drinks and company of Miller's and I rate it 5 out 5. 

What Teray's Family Says... (Janet, Jim and Pat Lazarus, written by Janet Lazarus)

So I was the guest blogger for the Newlyweds Blog last week while Brett was out of town.  Teray came to dinner with us at Miller's and she asked if I would write a few lines.  First of all, we go to Miller's every Friday night, so to say we like it is a understatement.  What we love most about the place is that it reminds us of back home (of course being Teray's family that is Jersey).  We mostly sit at the bar each Friday (we kind of celebrate the ending of the work week) and we have become "REGULARS" which we love. The bartenders know us and they automatically get us our beer (which is always ice cold) and ask us how we are doing this week, just like the hometown feel because living in Vegas you kind of get lost in the shuffle.  

We mostly get the same food too, I always get the fish tacos which I love because the are good and kind of on the lighter side but you do get 3 which is plenty.  My husband usually gets the Zingers which they are known for and again are plentiful and a basket of fries which we share.  I have to say of all the places in Vegas I love their fries; they are always hot and fresh.  Teray's cousin also came to dinner this week and yes he always orders the Zinger Club which he swears by.  So they are definitely consistent with there food because we all  keep on ordering the same thing, so it must be good.  Teray ordered the pizza which I was glad because that recently came onto the menu but I never want to switch, but that did look really good.   I wanted to try the peanut butter pie on the menu since we were blogging but after all the talking and fun we had forgotten about dessert.   Oh well its not like I won't be back, perhaps this Friday lol. :) 5 out 5!!!

Week 62 Ranch House Kitchen (Town Square)

Hey Everyone <3 Welcome back! I cannot believe that next week summer as I know it is basically over. It was an amazing one though and don't worry, we still have many exciting things on the way, restaurants to review, and fabulous outfits of the week provided by Patty's Closet.

What Teray Says...

So this week after our date we knew that we were going to meet some of our friends at a Spy on Vegas event at Blue Martini. Being it was my turn to pick the restaurant, I figured why not pick somewhere in Town Square. We had never been to Ranch House and it is right next door to Blue Martini, easy decision.

Sometimes we are have friends join us on our dates. This week our friend Adam came along with us at Ranch House, so I will talk about what all three of us ordered. Adam beat us there because as Brett might mention, it took me forever to do my hair and we were running late. We sat in the outside area, but there were misters so the heat didn't bother me as much as it normally does. Oh, for those of you that don't know, Ranch House took over Cadillac Ranch's spot. 

Our server was on the ball and we just all ordered water because we would be getting free drinks next door. They have a huge menu, so it took us a little bit to decide what to order. I wish I had branched out and tried something off the potato, grilled cheese, or breakfast menu, but I have been craving Cesar salad so much lately that I got a chicken Cesar salad wrap. I have no idea what the thing that Brett ordered was called, but it look really good, and Adam ordered a cobb salad. FYI, their menu is huge; it is definitely some place that all ages could go because there is something for everyone. 

It took a little while to get our food, but I think Brett's probably took really long to cook. Adam's salad looked fresh and delicious and I enjoyed my Cesar salad wrap immensely. You can order sides, but being I wasn't super hungry, I just went with the wrap. 

Brett and Adam both ordered dessert. Again, I wanted to save my calories for the free drinks so I skipped it. Brett got this huge cookie pie thing and Adam got a piece of pie. Both looked so delicious. Brett let me have a taste of his, and it was just the perfect amount of sweet without being sugar overload. If we ever go back, I will splurge.

Overall, I liked Ranch House Kitchen. I really would like to go back and try something different from what I usually order. Our service was good and so was the food so I would rate it 3 out 5. I heard it is a fun place to be at night time and that they serve a good brunch, so if I ever go back it will be on a Sunday for brunch.

What Brett Says...

This week we picked our restaurant based on what we were doing after dinner; we had plans to go to the Spy on Vegas event at Blue Martini.  Since we were going to Town Square we figured we might as well eat there, there are always places closing which means new restaurants opening.  We decided to go to "Ranch House Kitchen" which is where Cadillac Ranch use to be.  I'm pretty sure they just changed the name and tweaked the menu.  

The place is huge, I think this is part of the reason Cadillac Ranch didn't make it.  It is your standard Americana restaurant with wood everywhere and all that is American.  One part that is nice is their patio, they are on the second floor and the patio overlooks the open area outside of Rave theaters; good spot to people watch.  It was hot outside but the shade and their fans kept us pretty comfortable.  If you have been to Town Square it is a pretty standard restaurant, comparable to Miller's Ale House and Yard House just with their own twist, well not their twist...with a Cadillac Ranch twist.  The service was good, it was nothing special though.  He was there when we needed him and wasn't hovering over us.  I think the lack of things to say about the restaurant and the service sum it up well; it was there, it served and purpose, but they aren't anything to write home about.

I'm pretty sure the menu is the same as Cadillac Ranch's with different words and descriptions, it is a pretty standard American restaurant.  I decided to go with the Cheddar Brisket Grinder.  They describe it as "thick slices of brisket stacked with roasted red peppers, white cheddar cheese, crispy onions, mayo and steak sauce on a hoagie roll."  I can tell you that all of these flavors work well, the blend and they are delicious.  Unfortunately they make a horrible sandwich, specifically the thick slices of brisket.  I'm pretty sure it was just one large slab of brisket, which I'm not one to complain about.  That is until I am expected to chew through it.  I took one bite and pulled off all the brisket, which left me with a grilled cheese sandwich of sorts.  All of it was good I think they should just switch it to thinly sliced or chopped up brisket.  Maybe I'm the only one but I hate when a sandwich falls apart and/or you don't get to taste all the parts of said sandwich in each bite.  If I had to eat this again I would just cut it all up and make it into a mixed plate.  To follow up my sandwich I decided I would indeed get some dessert, I opted to get one of the greatest dessert items to find on a menu...a chocolate chip cookie skillet.  A large chocolate chip cookie on a metal skillet straight out of the oven with vanilla ice cream on top.  I would happily go back to a fat kid if I could just make these a large part of my diet.  I think it all goes back to childhood when my mom use to make chocolate chip cookie pie...a quick way to my heart (hint hint).  This was amazing, they did it very well.

Overall I wasn't impressed with Ranch House, there is no originality and it just wasn't all that great.  I wouldn't be surprised if the owners of Cadillac Ranch just closed and opened it with a different name hoping to boost business...which probably won't work.  I think the space is just too big, maybe when I get some cash I will buy it and turn it into something amazing.  However, you need to stop in for the chocolate chip cookie skillet.

Week 27 Coconuts

What Teray Says...
This week we had the pleasure of going to Coconuts Beach Bar and Mexican Grill. It is a new restaurant that opened in Town Square where Lolita's used to be. Brett found a Groupon about a week and a half ago, which consisted of two specialty drinks, one appetizer, two meals, and one dessert for $35. Talk about a steal!


When  you walk into Coconuts you know off the bat it is going to be a fun place. It is decorated in a beachy theme, and is actually a really big place. I didn't realize how big this place actually was. There are high rise tables by the bar, a dance floor in the middle, and then booths which are set up around the dance floor, like you are VIP style. There is also another area of tables and booths farther back. There is also a big bus in the middle which is the dj station, and beer pong on college nights in the back. It is just a fun vibe all around.

We were greeted and seated right away by the friendly staff. We started off with some drinks, there are so many choices. I feel like I may go there one day and just try about 3 or 4 of them and need a cab ride home, but this was not my goal for the evening. ;) Brett decided to order a coconut mojito and I ordered a bloody maria (which we all know bloody mary is my favorite- this is just the same with tequila, so it is actually wayyy better). My mouth is actually watering for it as I type this. I took one sip of Brett's and it was delightful; if I wasn't afraid of mixing sweet and spicy, I would have had that too, but we will be back again soon, so I can order it then.

The service here is spot on. Our waitress was extremely on top of everything and we never felt like we were waiting or wondering where she was. (If you read our reviews weekly, you know that good service is not something we get a lot of). For our appetizer we decided to order guacamole. The chips were the best chips I have ever had, that we even refilled our bowl and ate more. The guacamole is very fresh and it comes with three types of salsa; I wanted to eat more, but I didn't want to be too full for my meal. Again, best guacamole hands down that I have ever had. 

For our meal I ordered the shrimp fajitas and Brett ordered marinated skirt steak. I can speak for my fajitas and just say, "wow." It came with nice big pieces of shrimp, which I gave Brett some, rice, beans, 3 wraps, and grilled veggies. The cool thing is that you get to pick your sides, so I picked spanish rice and pinto beans. I wanted to stay with the theme. I was able to eat two fajitas and then got full, so like every week, I took the rest home and Brett ate it for lunch the next day. Brett will talk more about his skirt steak, but I took a bite and it was so tender. Pretty awesome if you ask me.

Next, we got to choose a dessert. We went with our waitress's suggestion of the coconut cheese cake. Well, while in the mix of things, we were told that we got a free dessert because I had tweeted Coconuts earlier in the day! How awesome is that?! For our second dessert we picked the fire and ice which is Habanero caramel served over vanilla ice cream. We chose this because the waitress said that no one has ever ordered it. Brett said that she had to try it at the table. LOL. Well, because I am blonde, and sheltered, and live under a rock, and many other reasons... I did not know what habanero was. I thought it was just some fancy spanish word for caramel. Little did I know it is a spicy pepper! The first bite kind of tingles your whole mouth, but second bite it, it is awesomely delicious. Both dessert were fantastic.

Overall, my experience at Coconuts was fabulous, not only was the food some of the best Mexican food I have had in Vegas, the drinks were a-mazing, and the atmosphere was fun! The service was like a said before top notch. You know the service is good at a place when you have servers from other tables checking on your table. Everyone was very pleasant and so friendly. I am definitely planning our next adventure back and rate Coconuts 5 out of 5. You must go there!!!! What Brett Says...


This week we went where Groupon took us again, "Coconuts" is in Town Square on the second floor across from Rave.  A couple weeks ago Groupon had a deal; $35 for an appetizer, 2 specialty drinks, 2 entrees, and a dessert.  Even if the food was terrible it still would have been a good deal.  Lucky for us things worked out better.

We figured we should get to Coconuts soon considering it is in a spot that seems to be a business killer.  I think they are the third or fourth business in that spot in less then four years.  Teray had heard about them and was excited to go, I on the other hand am so far out of the loop since I left the industry that I didn't even know it was there as I was walking through the door.  But that's no surprise since Teray knows about everything before it becomes something.  The inside is kinda what you would expect from the frat house in the movie Animal House if they had gone to school in California...allow me to expand.  There is a VW bus as a DJ booth, tons of colors everywhere, a dance floor, alcohol, and girls in bikinis.  Ladies, I know you are thinking how degrading it must be to work where bikinis are the uniform let alone eat there, well they class it up a bit with white tank tops and jean shorts.  For the guys, don't worry the tank tops are tiny and low cut and the jean shorts are tiny and high cut.  But I was with my beautiful wife so I didn't notice any of that, I actually heard about it from a guy who notices that kind of stuff.  Aside from the waitress' the place is pretty cool, you definitely get the whole beach vibe.  They have video streaming from past nights and from what I could tell they have a pretty lively nightlife.  The manager was telling us that they do college night and work with a couple fraternities.  Considering Cadillac Ranch is no longer I think they are getting some business from them, except it is college kids instead of well you know...trash.  Not to mention every once in a while we need to act like we are in college for a night so we can regret it for three days.  

The service was good, December has already brought us luck in this department.  They weren't that busy so I can't speak to what it would be like at other times.  We were greeted at the door by multiple employees and sat immediately.  Our waitress was friendly, and they do that whole "Joe's Crabshack" thing where they grab a chair and sit with you when they take your order.  She was on top of things, which we haven't had lately.  Everything we ordered came out quick, she had suggestions when we needed them, and we didn't have to ask to order.  One thing that really stood out when we were there was that other waitress' took care of us too; if someone saw that we had empty plates or needed refills it just happened, we didn't have to wait till our waitress came by.  We had a manager and who I think was the owner come by, it was nice being acknowledged and thanked for coming in.  They weren't that busy and they are new, that is exactly what should be happening with management.  From my personal experience working everywhere I have customers seem to do better and come out happier when someone stops by and thanks them for coming in that isn't getting the tip.  We also ordered a dessert that our waitress said she had never had, we told her she would have to try it if we ordered...she did.  Everyone we encountered was fun and laid back, they (the staff and restaurant) aren't trying to be what they aren't.  How many times have you been somewhere that reminds you of a guy wearing a tux at a BBQ?  They know what they are shooting for, stick to it, and accomplish it.

Of course I have to touch on the food, beings it is a restaurant review and all.  Like I said earlier we went with the prix fixe Groupon, so we got a ton of food and it was cheap.  Looking at the menu it didn't look like it would be all that much without a Groupon...we plan on going back without the Groupon.  We ordered the guacamole as an appetizer; you get a basket of tortilla chips, 3 salsas, and a huge bowl of guac.  We had so much guac that we had to order a second basket of chips.  We also got to order some specialty drinks, I went with a coconut mojito and Teray went with a bloody mary margarita (Bloody Maria).  Both drinks were good, mine specifically was amazing, it was the kind of drink you want to wake up to and keep drinking all day.  Who knows I may just do it someday, just hope you aren't the one I call to come drive me home.  For our entrees I ordered the skirt steak and Teray ordered shrimp fajitas.  Since I ate all of mine and half of hers I can attest to both that they were also amazing.  You get a huge plate of food; they don't skimp on anything...you get meat (whatever you choose), two sides, and tortillas.  If you are someone that doesn't go for overindulgence there is easily enough for a meal and a take home snack.  We also got a dessert as part of our deal, we went with coconut cheesecake.  Yeah you guessed it...amazing.  It was more like a coconut cheesecake mousse, Teray even asked if she could have a big one for her birthday cake.  Then the manager surprised us and said that since Teray tweeted about them (still no way I will ever have a Twitter) we got a free dessert.  So for dessert #2 we went with Habenero caramel ice cream, this was the one we made our waitress try.  It is definitely something you have to take more then one bite of, the first bite hits you and by the third you are wanting more.  I'm not a fan of spicy but for some reason this works.  It isn't something I would get everytime but for a first time or just to give it a shot you won't be disappointed. 

So to sum things up...it was amazing, we will go back, and it kinda makes me miss my frat boy days.

Patty's Closet Outfit of the Week

Hi fashion lovers! I hope your are all enjoying the transition into winter clothes and Christmas shopping away (especially at one of the 6 Patty's Closet stores here in Vegas). Anyway, of course thank you to Patty and Juan of Patty's Closet for providing me with my outfit of the week this week. When I was searching for what to find, I wanted some color, because in the winter I tend to stick to the blacks, browns, and greys. The blue was a perfect way to change it up. Patty also helped me pick out the fabulous accessories to this outfit (the necklace and legging tights). She has the perfect eye to make any outfit complete!

This outfit of the week provided by Patty's Closet Fashion Boutique is one of my favorite looks, the mini dress. I love a mini dress because in the summer you can wear it with bare legs and in the fall you can make it so cool with leggings or tights. Never too much exposed :) The blue is such a rich color and the sleeves flare out at the end. The tights are a thick material that are like leggings and are footless. The neckalce is a gun metal and silver statement piece. This whole look is available at the Rainbow location. Love it!

Week 20 English's Quintessentially British at Town Square

What Teray Says...

Being a huge fan of Town Square and the latest hot spots, I chose to go to English's which is a newer British restaurant right across from Johnny McGuire's and Blue Martini. I think a tapas place used to be there. When you walk into English's there is a bar and dining area. The dining area is pretty nice for a restaurant in Town Square, because most besides Brio are the casual vibe. I think that area is probably used more for the brunch and the high tea that they have. We chose to sit outside on the patio because the weather was gorgeous. 


Brett and I were joined by two of our favorite people this week Trevor and Chelsie, who just got engaged and we couldn't be happier for them. While waiting for them to arrive Brett and I ordered drinks. I went with my normal Riesling and Brett got some sort of English beer (that was actually really awesome). I'm sure he will mention the name of it in his portion.


For an appetizer we decided to order the smoked salmon crostini. This was smoked salmon and dill crème fraiche on top of a baguette type bread. I personally think this was the best portion of the meal, besides the company we were with.

For food Chelsie and Trevor got the grilled ham and cheese which was country ham and english cheddar bake. That sandwich looked amazing and I should have ordered it! Brett ordered the fish chips. The fried cod was pretty good, but as we know I am not a fried food fan besides french fries, so I only took one bite of Brett's. I ordered the London tag which was 
tagliatelle, herb sausage, peas, cream, cheese. I picked it because when I saw tagliatelle it caught my eye. The portion size for all of these meals especially mine was a nice size. Granted, my meal was not awful, but it was nothing special. The sauce was a little creamy for my liking, but the sausage was good. I gave almost half the portion to Brett because I was full but also not the biggest fan. If I ever went back there again, which I probably won't, I would order some type of sandwich. 

Okay, on to the service. It took forever to get everything. Even to get a forth chair when we arrived took about 15 minutes, which to me is ridiculous because the place wasn't even that busy. When we ordered our second round of drinks it also took very long. When asked if the waitress forgot the bus person said because the bar tender was making two mixed drinks. I'm sorry but it is easy to pour beer and wine, not having to wait 20 minutes for a second round.


If I had to rate English's I would give it a 2 out of 5 mainly for the atmosphere being in Town Square and the company I was with. Unfortunately I feel it is going to be another one of those places in Town Square that closes within a couple of months. Maybe it would have been better if we went for high tea.


What Brett Says...


So I know the blog is out late again, it is my fault.  I decided to work way too much and be way too lazy after work.  So here I am after 13 straight days getting this out so you all can decide if you want to try another restaurant.  This week we went to "English's Quintessentially British" in Town Square.  It is upstairs across from Rave and behind Johnny Mcguires.  If you want to check them out go to http://www.EnglishsTownSquare.com

As you can tell by the name they are an English restaurant...like long live the Queen, care for a spot of tea, Austin Powers.  I don't really know English food, I have been to Crown and Anchor, I speak English, and I like drinking Strongbow Cider.  Besides that not much.  I was interested to see what it would be all about, I'm a fan of Town Square and they had a patio.  I figured we could go chill and have a nice Saturday night on the patio.  We invited our friends Trevor and Chelsie...who just happened to be celebrating their new engagement.  So congrats to them.  For those of you that don't know I am an ordained minister, so it is Reverend Brett "Fish" Dragun to all of you from now on.  They actually asked me to perform the ceremony...so I am excited and honored.  

So here we are on a Saturday night at 8:30pm walking into the newest restaurant in the hottest locals spot in town; straight up crickets.  We walk in and there is 3 people at the bar, we tell the hostess we wanted to sit on the patio and she said she would have to see because most of the tables were reserved.  We end up getting a high top table on the patio, there are MAYBE 5 other tables sat and they are all on the patio.  The inside was nice and elegant, empty but elegant.  The patio was nothing special, tables and chairs.  The place itself is about the right size to be a sustainable restaurant.  I think their biggest problem on the physical aspect is that they might have their hopes set a little high for it being in a mall setting.  They need to get more of a pub feel to it.  

Teray and I started with a Smoke Salmon Crostini which is kinda like a salmon bruschetta.  It was good, one of the better appetizers we have had on the blog tour.  I then went with Fish and Chips for my dinner (original I know).  I have to say it was unremarkable...not bad but nothing worth going out of you way for.  I would say save your money and go to Long John Silvers.  I also ate some of Teray's and it was good, better then mine.  Since the dinner was lacking we opted not to get dessert, the alcohol was our dessert.

Now for the part I have been wanting to write about...the service.  I can't really say we actually had anyone taking care of us.  I know there was a guy that filled our water quickly.  As for our waitress, I know we spent a lot of time trying to get her and more time waiting for her.  Keep in mind there was at most 20 people in the place.  My empty beer glass spent more time just sitting waiting to be refilled then should ever happen.  At one point the 4 of us ordered a round of drinks and after 10 minutes the waitress came to apologize because the bartender was getting backed up.  BACKED UP?  We were ordering wine and beer, how does someone that tends bar for a living get backed up with 20 people in the place and the order only requires pouring from a bottle and opening a tap.  Luckily Trevor made a smart ass comment to our waitress, kept me from having to be the smart ass for once.  Needless to say she did not get 20%, in retrospect I am kinda upset that I gave her 15%.

All in all I can say I will never be back to this place.  If you want to check it out I would do it by February/March...I don't see it being open very long, that might even be generous.  If you are in the mood for English food I would prob recommend Crown and Anchor.  If you do go try the salmon appetizer and get a Strongbow.  My rating will reflect those two things, that and they have a patio.  For being one of the more expensive dinners we have reviewed I was disappointed.  I was even more disappointed that the service sucked (except the water boy) beings it is a new restaurant.

Rating is 2 out 5...the fact they have Strongbow accounts for the majority of that 2.

Patty's Closet Outfit of the Week
I love my dress this week! Thanks to Patty and Juan of Patty's Closet for providing me with this gorgeous dress. I got this dress at the Blue Diamond location (the blue store). The dress is a tube style with a draping neck in the front. The skirt portion of has an overlay to make it 
look even dressier (kinda of tutu material). The side has a beautiful design that looks like star fish with beading. This is definitely a dress for a night on the town.
